eschew pomposity

3 things that make you happy:
  • friends & family to sing with
  • friends & family to dance with
  • ending sentences with prepositions*
2 things you are looking forward to today:
  • lunch with sister [& mom?]
  • raising my hand & waiting for the cats to call on me
2 long term things you are looking forward to:
  • more singing & dancing
  • more goofiness
1 person you are going to appreciate:
  • chris
* Prepositions ending sentences are common and comfortable in English, and come from its Germanic/Anglo-Saxon roots.  When the English aristocracy was almost entirely of non-Germanic Norman-invasion descent, and also studied Latin grammar, avoiding prepositions at the end of sentences made sense to them, as did a grammar rule to help keep the lower classes in their linguistic places. "Do not end a sentence with a preparation" is a legacy of class snobbery. Eschew it.
